Wheel Bearings: Installation

  1. Apply grease to bearing cavity, wheel bearings and oil seal lips. Using Bearing Installer (J-34856 ), install inner bearing. Install spacer and outer bearing with seal facing outward. Spacer must be snug and centered between inner and outer bearings.
  2. Install oil seal. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Ensure hub spacer is installed correctly. See Figure . Use NEW drive axle nut during assembly and stake in place.
