Valve Lifter: Removal

Remove camshaft. See CAMSHAFT in this article. Note valve lifter location for reassembly reference. Remove valve lifters from cylinder head.

CAUTION: Store valve lifter in engine oil when removed from engine. If valve lifter is not stored in engine oil, DO NOT lay on its side or with body facing upward. Valve lifter must be stored with body facing downward to prevent oil from bleeding from valve lifter.
