Fuel Pressure Release

  1. Set parking brake. Place transaxle in Neutral (M/T) or Park (A/T). Fuel pump relay must be removed. Fuel pump relay is located in main fuse box, at left side of engine compartment. Refer to Fig 1.
  2. Remove main fuse box retaining screws. Release locking tabs on fuel pump relay and remove from main fuse box. Disconnect electrical connector from fuel pump relay.
  3. Start engine and operate until it stalls. Crank engine an additional 3 times for 3 second intervals to release residual fuel line pressure. Remove fuel tank filler cap to release pressure from fuel tank.
  4. Fuel pressure should now be released and fuel pump relay can be installed.
