Cylinder Head: Inspection

  1. Inspect cylinder head for warpage at cylinder block area and manifold surfaces. See CYLINDER HEAD SPECS TABLE at end of article. Replace cylinder head if warpage cannot be corrected using a surface plate and No. 400 grit sandpaper.
  2. Inspect cylinder block deck surface warpage. Resurface cylinder block if deck warpage exceeds specification. See CYLINDER BLOCK SPECS TABLE at end of article.
