Removal & Installation (Prizm)
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove hood release lever on instrument panel lower trim panel. Remove 4 retaining screws of instrument panel lower trim panel. Disconnect speaker electrical connector and A/C duct from panel. Remove lower trim panel. Remove steering column covers.
- Remove 2 retaining screws from switch panel/radio trim bezel, and pull panel outward from dash. See Fig 1
. Disconnect cruise control, defogger and rear wiper switches. Disconnect remaining electrical connectors. Remove switch panel/radio trim bezel from dash.
- Remove 4 retaining screws from instrument cluster bezel. Remove electrical connectors from hazard switch and panel illumination switch. Remove instrument cluster bezel. Remove 4 retaining screws from instrument cluster, and pull cluster outward. Disconnect electrical connectors and speedometer cable from rear of cluster, and remove cluster. To install, reverse removal procedure. See Fig 1
