Thrust Bearing

  1. With crankshaft bearing caps installed, check thrust clearance (end play) using dial gauge to read displacement in axial thrust direction of crankshaft.
  2. Standard thickness of thrust bearing is .0984" (2.50 mm). Oversize thrust bearings are available in increments of .0049" (.125 mm). If clearance exceeds specification, replace thrust bearing. See CRANKSHAFT, MAIN & CONNECTING ROD  table under ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS.
