Valves Service

  1. Measure thickness of margin on valve head. Intake and exhaust valve margin thickness should measure .039" (1.0 mm). Minimum margin thickness on intake valves is .024" (.60 mm) and .028" (.70 mm) on exhaust valves.
  2. If grinding removes .020" (.50 mm) or more, replace valve. Maximum radial runout is .003" (.08 mm). Contact pattern of each valve width should be .051-.059" (1.30-1.50 mm).
