- Prior to valve guide installation, ream valve guide bore in cylinder head with Reamer (J-34832) or a .472" (12.0 mm) reamer. Reamer will remove burrs caused by valve guide removal. Ensure diameter of bore is within specifications.
- Heat cylinder head to 176-212°F (80-100°C). Drive valve guide into guide bore using Valve Guide Remover/Installer (J-34834). Drive guide until installer contacts cylinder head. After installation, top of guide should measure .055" (14.0 mm) from surface of cylinder head.
- Ream valve guide bore with Reamer (J-34831) or a .472" (7.0 mm) reamer. After reaming, clean bore. Install valve spring seat. Install new oil seal using Oil Seal Installer (J-34835). Ensure seal is properly seated, using only hand pressure. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.
