Intake Manifold: Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1988 Chevrolet Sprint. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Clean all mating surfaces. Using a new gasket, install intake manifold on cylinder head. Install wire harness clamps. Ensure that wires do not interfere with fuel pump. On models with carburetor, install 3-Way Solenoid Valve (TWSV) with terminals facing away from carburetor. Tighten manifold nuts and bolts.
  2. On EFI Turbo models, install fuel rails with injectors. If injectors were removed from delivery pipe, replace "O" ring with new one prior to installation.
  3. Install vacuum lines and coolant hoses. Connect emission control hoses. Connect electrical leads for cooling fan, thermal switch, coolant temperature gauge switch and TWSV.
NOTE: On models equipped with carburetors, ensure that Blue harness connector is connected to Blue TWSV terminal and Black harness connector is connected to Black TWSV terminal.
  4. Refill cooling system. Connect negative battery cable. Ensure throttle cable is properly adjusted.
