System Diagnosis: Notes

The ATCM monitors transmission operation and contains a self-diagnostic system which stores fault code if transmission electronic control system failure or problem exists. If a problem exists in the solenoids or speed sensors and fault code is set, the ATCM delivers a signal to blink the OD OFF light on instrument panel to warn the driver. Fault codes may be set if a failure exists and can be retrieved for transmission diagnosis. See TRANSMISSION TESTING.
