Strut Assembly: Removal
- Raise and support vehicle. Allow suspension to hang freely. Remove wheels. Disconnect disc brake caliper hose from caliper and strut.
- Scribe mating marks on strut and steering knuckle for installation reference. Remove strut-to-steering knuckle nuts and bolts. Remove strut-to-body mounting nuts at strut tower. Remove strut assembly from vehicle. If replacing strut, wear eye protection and drill a .08-.12" (2.0-3.0 mm) hole at base of old strut piston to release gases.
