Ball Joint Checking
Raise and support vehicle, allowing front suspension to hang freely. Hold tire at top and bottom. Move top of tire in and out. No horizontal or vertical movement at ball joint should exist. Disconnect ball joint from steering knuckle. If there is looseness in joint or ball stud can be turned by hand, replace ball joint.
