Removal (Paseo)

- Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove dipstick from transaxle. Remove air cleaner air duct and air cleaner lower assembly. Remove throttle cable from engine. Disconnect all electrical connectors from transaxle.
- Remove starter side bolts and 2 transaxle upper side mounting bolts. Attach engine chain hoist to engine hangers. Jack up vehicle and remove front wheels. Remove engine under cover.
- Drain differential and transaxle fluid. Remove axle shaft lock nuts from hub. Disconnect tie rod ends from steering knuckle. Disconnect lower ball joint from lower arm.
- Disconnect axle shaft from axle hub. Remove axle shaft from transaxle assembly. Remove and discard snap ring from axle shaft. Disconnect shift control cable from transaxle. Remove oil cooler lines and hoses, and ground wire from transaxle. Remove bolts from left side engine mounting bracket. Remove starter, speedometer cable and speed sensor connectors.
- Support transaxle with jack. Remove bolt from rear transaxle mount. Remove converter hole plug and remove torque converter-to-drive plate mounting bolts. Remove transaxle-to-engine mounting bolts. Separate and lower transaxle from engine. Remove torque converter from transaxle.
