Prizm GSi

  1. Raise and support vehicle. Remove necessary lower covers. Remove drain plug from lower area of differential. Remove drain plug from oil pan (if equipped). Drain fluid. Remove oil pan protector, oil pan and gasket. Remove filter screen and gasket.
  2. Install new filter screen and gasket. Tighten filter screen bolts to 84 INCH lbs. (9 N.m). Install oil pan, gasket and oil pan protector. Tighten oil pan bolts to 44 INCH lbs. (5 N.m). Tighten drain plugs to 20 ft. lbs. (27 N.m).
  3. Fill transaxle with Dexron-II, and check fluid level. See CHECKING FLUID LEVEL .
