- Park/lock (interlock) cable is adjusted at bracket, located near gearshift. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove ashtray and lower console. Remove left switch panel, cigarette lighter panel and hood release handle.
- Remove lower dash and steering column trim panels. Ensure gearshift is in PARK position and ignition switch is in LOCK position.
- Turn eye end (manual selector end) of park/lock cable clockwise until it reaches end face of park/lock cable threads. Turn eye end counterclockwise 1/2 to one turn.
- Turn park/lock cable adjusting nuts so amount of cable length at ignition switch is 2.697" (68.50 mm). See Fig 1. To install remaining components, reverse removal procedure.
