DERM turns on INFLATABLE RESTRAINT indicator light until current Code 51 is cleared.

- Incorrect diagnosis will occur if SIR DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK is not performed.
- If a Code 51 is current without signs of frontal impact and no deployment, code has set falsely and DERM should be replaced.
- History Code 51 cannot be cleared because both arming sensor and discriminating sensor closing simultaneously is permanently stored in Electrically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory (EEPROM) of DERM.
