Code 71, EGR Temperature Sensor Circuit (CALIF. Only)

Code 71 indicates that EGR temperature sensor has signaled the ECM of a temperature greater than, or less than, the calibrated range.

NOTE: Test numbers refer to test numbers on diagnostic chart.

ECM should provide 4-5 volts to EGR temperature sensor.
ECM provides ground for EGR temperature sensor.
Checks EGR temperature sensor resistance.
