Installation (Metro)

  1. Install parking brake shoe lever and self-adjusting strut. Install parking brake cable in lever. Install hold-down springs. Install brake shoes and return springs.
  2. Install brake drum, washer and new drive axle nut. Tighten drive axle nut to 74 ft. lbs. (100 N.m). Stake drive axle nut in place. Install spindle cap. Adjust rear brakes. See REAR BRAKE SHOES under ADJUSTMENTS .
