Disassembly (Prizm GSi)

  1. Remove caliper bolt and sliding bushing. Remove piston boot set ring and piston boot. Remove piston from caliper housing by turning piston counterclockwise. See Fig 1. Remove piston seal from caliper housing.
  2. Remove adjusting bolt snap ring from caliper housing. Remove adjusting bolt assembly. See Figure. Remove spring retainer, spring, spring plate and stopper from adjusting bolt. Remove "O" ring from adjusting bolt.
  3. Remove parking brake strut from caliper housing. Remove parking brake cable support bracket. Remove torsion spring from parking brake crank. Remove parking brake crank from caliper housing. Remove parking brake crank boot. Remove stopper pin.
