Horn Pad Switch: Tracker

  1. Ensure stop/horn fuse is good by operating stop lights. Locate combination switch harness 20-terminal connector under instrument panel, near steering column. Using test light, backprobe Blue/Green wire terminal of connector.
  2. If horn does not sound, replace relay. If horn does sound, disconnect combination switch harness 20-terminal connector. Connect ohmmeter between ground and switch connector Blue/Green wire terminal. Press steering wheel horn switch.
  3. If ohmmeter reading is more than 0.3 ohm, replace horn switch assembly. If ohmmeter reading is less than 0.3 ohm, switch is good. Repair wiring circuit or horn slip ring. See appropriate chassis wiring diagram in the WIRING DIAGRAMS section.
