Turn Signal Switch (Storm)

  1. Ensure fuse C-12, flasher and flasher ground are good before testing turn signal switch. Flasher is located in interior junction/fuse block. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove instrument switches panel located left of steering wheel. Remove cigarette lighter panel, hood release panel, lap air deflector, and lower instrument panel/knee pad assembly.
  2. Disconnect combination switch harness 16-terminal connector near steering column. See Figure . Check continuity, with hazard flasher switch in OFF position, between terminals No. 6 (Brown wire) and No. 7 (Red/Black wire) of switch connector. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity is not present, perform hazard flasher switch testing. See HAZARD FLASHER  under TESTING.
  3. Move turn signal stalk to left-turn position. Check continuity between terminals No. 6 (Brown wire) and No. 4 (Green/Black wire) of switch connector. Move turn signal stalk to right turn position. Check continuity between terminals No. 6 (Brown wire) and No. 5 (Green/White wire) of switch connector. If continuity is not present in either circuit, replace combination switch assembly.
