Turn Signal Switch (Prizm)

  1. Ensure fuses, flasher and hazard switch are good before testing turn signal switch. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove lower dash panel trim cover. Disconnect combination switch harness 14-terminal connector near steering column.
  2. Move turn signal stalk to left-turn position. Check continuity between terminals No. 1 (Green/White wire) and No. 5 (Green/Black wire) of connector. See Figure . If continuity is not present, replace combination switch assembly. If continuity is present, go to next step.
  3. Move turn signal stalk to right-turn position. Check continuity between terminals No. 1 (Green/White wire) and No. 8 (Green/Yellow wire). If continuity is not present, replace combination switch assembly.
