Dimmer Switch (Storm)
- Dimmer switch acts as grounding switch for all headlights, and is also part of the ground circuit for foglights. Switch ground connection is behind left kick panel, at top left of fuse block. See appropriate chassis wiring diagram in the WIRING DIAGRAMS section.
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove cigarette lighter panel, hood release panel, and instrument switches panel to left of steering wheel. Remove lap air deflector and lower instrument panel/knee pad assembly. Disconnect combination switch harness 16-terminal connector near steering column. See Fig 1
.
- Using ohmmeter, ensure low-beam circuit continuity is present between terminals No. 16 (Black wire) and 13 (Red/Green wire) of switch connector. Turn headlight switch to high beam. Ensure high-beam circuit continuity is present between terminals No. 16 (Black wire) and 15 (Red/Yellow wire) of switch connector. If continuity is not present in either switch position, replace combination switch assembly.
