Line Pressure Test
- Remove appropriate transaxle plug and connect pressure gauge. See Figure. Block all wheels. Apply parking brake. Start engine and shift into "D" position.
- Apply service brakes and depress accelerator. Note pressure readings at idle and stall speed. Repeat test in "R" position. Compare pressure readings to those listed in appropriate table under LINE PRESSURE SPECIFICATIONS See LINE PRESSURE TEST RESULTS .
- If pressure is lower than specified, check throttle cable adjustment. Adjust as necessary. See appropriate AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SERVICING article in the TRANSMISSION SERVICING section. Repeat pressure test procedure if throttle cable adjustment was necessary.
