Steering Knuckle: Removal
- Raise and support vehicle on safety stands, allowing suspension to hang freely. Remove wheel. Measure hub installation depth "A" for reassembly reference. See Figure . Straighten staked part of drive axle nut. Remove and discard drive axle nut. Depress brake pedal. Loosen, but DO NOT remove disc brake rotor bolts.
- Remove caliper bolts. Remove caliper and hang out of way. Remove hub and disc brake rotor with slide hammer and Adapter (J-2619-01 ). Separate wheel hub and disc brake rotor. Remove spacer from wheel hub.
- Remove tie rod end cotter pin and castle nut. Separate tie rod end from steering knuckle. Remove knuckle-to-strut assembly bolts and nuts. Remove ball joint pinch bolt and nut. Remove steering knuckle.
