Removal & Installation (Metro, Prizm & Storm)
- Remove transaxle. See CLUTCH ASSEMBLY R & I . Disconnect return spring from shaft fork. Remove clutch release bearing from transaxle. Inspect release bearing for rough rotation, wear or damage. If necessary, replace bearing.
- Lightly lubricate release bearing with grease. Install clutch release bearing on transaxle retainer. Ensure bearing pads are located on fork ends (pads must be indexed) and both spring ends are in fork holes, with spring completely seated in bearing groove.
- To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Tighten all nuts and bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS at end of article.
