Converter Housing, Oil Pump, Reverse Clutch & 2ND Clutch

ASSEMBLY

1. Turn transmission in holding fixture so that converter housing is facing up. Remove the 7 converter housing attaching bolts. Loosen, but do not remove, the 5 oil pump attaching bolts. See Fig 1 .

   NOTE: Outer bolts are converter housing bolts. Inner bolts are oil pump attaching bolts.
2. Remove "O" ring seal from input shaft. Remove converter housing with oil pump, oil pump flange gasket and reverse clutch assemblies. DO NOT  lose selective thrust washer, located between oil pump hub and 2nd clutch drum.
3. Remove 2nd clutch and 3rd clutch assemblies by lifting up on input shaft. Separate 2nd clutch and 3rd clutch assemblies. Remove reverse clutch plates and aluminum pressure plate from transmission case.
