Removal & Installation: Strut: Removal

Raise and support vehicle. Remove wheel. Support lower control arm with floor jack. Remove strut-to-body nuts on upper side of strut. See Figure. Remove lower strut-to-knuckle pinch bolt.
CAUTION: To prevent brake flexhose from stretching, or coil spring from coming out of control arm, DO NOT lower floor jack more than necessary during strut removal.
Compress and remove strut. If strut will not come out of knuckle, open slit of knuckle (as little as possible) with a wedge. See Figure. Check strut for leaks or damage. Replace if necessary.
