Armature Coil

  1. Using ohmmeter, check continuity between armature core and insulation between commutator segments. Continuity should NOT be present. If continuity exists, replace armature. If continuity is NOT present, check armature for shorts with a growler. Replace armature as required.
  2. Ensure continuity exists between segments on commutator. If continuity is NOT present between any two segments, replace armature.
