Disc & Drum: Description

All models except Prizm GSi are equipped with front disc brakes and rear drum brakes. Prizm GSi is equipped with front and rear disc brakes.

Hydraulic pressure is distributed diagonally through 2 circuits. The left front and right rear brakes are activated by the master cylinder rear service port. The right front and left rear brakes are activated by the master cylinder front service port.

On all models except Prizm GSi, parking brake lever assembly sets rear brakes using a cable and mechanical linkage system. On Prizm GSi, when parking brake is applied, lever on caliper pushes parking brake strut, which then pushes caliper piston outward, applying parking brake.
