Removal (Samurai & Swift SOHC)

  1. Remove cylinder head. See CYLINDER HEAD  . Remove distributor and distributor case.
    NOTE: Cylinder head removal is necessary to obtain clearance for rocker arm shaft and camshaft removal.
  2. Loosen all valve adjustment lock nuts and valve adjusting screws. Remove 10 rocker arm shaft retaining screws. Slide rocker arm shaft(s) out of rear side of head assembly. Remove rocker arms and springs.
