Oil Pump: Removal

- Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove timing belt. See TIMING BELT . Raise vehicle and drain oil. Remove flywheel dust cover. Disconnect exhaust pipe at manifold. Remove oil pan and strainer.
- Remove crankshaft timing belt pulley. It may be necessary to lock flywheel to remove pulley bolt. Remove alternator and A/C compressor mounting brackets (if equipped). Remove alternator adjusting bolt and upper timing belt cover bolt. Remove oil pump bolts and oil pump.
