- Clean all parts and apply a thin coat of oil to inner and outer gears, oil seal lip and inside surfaces of oil pump case and plate.
- Set inner and outer gears into pump case. Assemble gear plate and tighten 5 bolts securely. After installing gear plate, ensure gears turn smoothly by hand. Install "O" ring to pump case and oil level gauge guide.
- Install 2 oil pump pins and oil pump gasket on cylinder block. Slide Oil Seal Guide (J-34853) on crankshaft. Apply oil to seal guide and install oil pump.
- Install 7 oil pump bolts with 4 short bolts at top of oil pump and longer bolts on either side of cylinder block. Tighten bolts to 84-108 INCH lbs. (10-13 N.m). Ensure oil seal lip is not turned up and remove oil seal guide.
- Trim edge of gasket that might bulge until it is smooth and flush with cylinder block. Install timing belt guide with curved side facing oil pump.
- Install Woodruff key and crankshaft timing belt sprocket. Tighten sprocket bolt to 47-54 ft. lbs. (65-75 N.m). Install timing belt and tensioner. Adjust intake and exhaust valves. Connect negative battery cable. Check all engine fluids. Perform oil pressure check.
