Repair Procedures: Replacement

CAUTION:
  • When removing with a flat-tip screwdriver or remover, wrap protective tape around the tools to prevent damage to components.
  • Put on gloves to prevent hand injuries.
  • Use a plastic panel removal tool to remove interior trim pieces without marring the surface.
  • Take care not to bend or scratch the trim and panels.
  1. Remove the main crash pad assembly.

    (Refer to Crash Pad - "MAIN CRASH PAD ASSEMBLY ")

  2. Remove the knee airbag (KAB).

    (Refer to Restraint (Airbag (Event#1)) - "KNEE AIRBAG (KAB) MODULE ")

  3. Remove the accelerator pedal module.

    (Refer to Fuel system - "ACCELERATOR PEDAL ")

  4. Press the lock pin and separate the airbag control module (SRSCM) connector (A).

  5. Separate the floor carpet (A) backwards.

  6. Remove the front air duct (A).

  7. Disconnect the steering column connectors.

    (Refer to Steering System - "STEERING COLUMN AND SHAFT ")

  8. Loosen the mounting nuts and through bolts in the frontal area and lower the steering column.

    (Refer to Steering System - "STEERING COLUMN AND SHAFT ")

  9. Disconnect the connector (A) and the mounting wiring fasteners in the front pillar.

  10. Separate the passenger compartment junction box connectors (A).

  12. Disconnect the eCall unit connectors (A) and tilt unit connector (B).

  13. Separate the heater and blower unit connector.

    [Driver's] 

    1. Loosen the mounting screw, remove the shower duct (A).

    2. Separate the IAU connector (A).

    3. Loosen the mounting nuts, and then remove the IAU connector (A) and then remove the IAU unit (B).

    4. Loosen the mounting bolts, remove the ADAS driving ECU (A).

    1. Loosen the mounting screw, remove the shower duct (A).

    2. Loosen the mounting nuts (A), remove the ADAS parking ECU (B).

    3. Separate the ADAS parking ECU connector (A).

    5. Loosen the PTC heater mounting bolt (A), separate the console temperature actuator connector (B) and console mode actuator connector (C).

    6. Separate the mode actuator connector (A).

    10. Loosen the IBU mounting bolts, separate the connector and then remove the IBU (A).

  14. Remove the plug hole (A) and then loosen the mounting bolts (B).

    Tightening torque: 

    16.7 - 25.5 N.m (1.7 - 2.6 kgf.m, 12.3 - 18.8 lb-ft)

  15. Loosen the mounting bolts, nuts and remove the cowl cross bar assembly (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    16.7 - 25.5 N.m (1.7 - 2.6 kgf.m, 12.3 - 18.8 lb-ft)

  16. To install, reverse removal procedure.

    Information 

    • Make sure the crash pad fits onto the guide pins correctly.
    • Before tightening the bolts, make sure the crash pad wire harnesses are not pinched.
    • Make sure the connectors are plugged in properly, and the antenna lead is connected properly.
    • Make sure that each of the assembly components operates properly.
    • Replace any damaged clips (or pin-typ retainers).
