LH Cylinder Head Cover

  1. Disconnect the battery negative terminal from the trunk room.
  2. Remove the engine cover.

    (Refer to Engine and Transmission Assembly - "ENGINE COVER ")

  3. Remove the LH air cleaner assembly.

    (Refer to Intake and Exhaust System - "AIR CLEANER ")

  4. Disconnect the RCV hose (A), and then remove the air intake hose (B).

  5. Remove the intercooler inlet pipe (A).

  6. Disconnect the fuel hose (A) and purge control solenoid valve (PCSV) hose (B).

  7. Disconnect the engine wiring connectors and harness clamps around the LH cylinder head cover. Then, remove the connector brackets and wiring protector.

    Tightening torque: 

    6.9 - 9.8 N.m (0.7 - 1.0 kgf.m, 5.1 - 7.2 lb-ft)

  8. Disconnect the breather hose (A).

  9. Disconnect the hose (A), and then remove the purge control solenoid valve (PCSV) (B).

    Tightening torque: 

    7.8 - 9.8 N.m (0.8 - 1.0 kgf.m, 5.7 - 7.2 lb.ft)

  10. Remove the LH ignition coils.

    (Refer to Engine Electrical System - "IGNITION COIL ")

  11. Remove the LH GDI injector.

    (Refer to Engine Control/Fuel System - "INJECTOR ")

  12. Remove the engine oil filler cap body (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    9.8 - 11.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb.ft)

  13. Remove the LH cylinder head cover (A).

    NOTE:
    • After removing the LH cylinder head cover, be sure to cover the top side of the cylinder head with a clean towel or vinyl cover to prevent foreign matters from entering.
    • Unfasten the cylinder head cover bolts in the sequence shown.
