LH Cylinder Head Cover

- Clean and remove the oil, sealant, etc. on the surface of the cylinder head cover and cylinder head.NOTE:
- The hardening sealant located on the cylinder head cover and the gap between the timing chain cover and the cylinder head should be removed before assembling cylinder head cover.
- Make sure the gasket contact surfaces are clean and dry.
- Install a new gasket on the cylinder head cover.NOTE:
- Always new use cylinder head cover gasket.
- Make sure that the cylinder head cover gasket are correctly installed in the grooves of the head cover.
- Install the LH cylinder head cover.
- After Applying liquid gasket sealant on the timing chain cover and the marked areas on the cam carrier upper side and the chain cover upper side, assemble them within 5 minutes.
Bead width: Ø4.5 mm (0.18 in.)
Sealant: MS721-40 AA or AAO
- Install the LH cylinder head cover (A).
- Install the cylinder head cover by tightening the bolts, in several passes, in the sequence as shown.
Tightening torque:
1st step: 4.9 - 5.9 N.m (0.5 - 0.6 kgf.m, 3.6 - 4.3 lb.ft)
2nd step: 9.8 - 11.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb.ft)
NOTE:- Do not fill the engine oil within at least 30 minutes after the installation.
- Do not run the engine or pressurize the inside of the engine within 30 minutes after assembling the cylinder head cover.
- After Applying liquid gasket sealant on the timing chain cover and the marked areas on the cam carrier upper side and the chain cover upper side, assemble them within 5 minutes.
- Install the other parts reverse order of removal.
