RH CVVT & Camshaft
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
- Install the RH intake camshaft (A) and RH exhaust camshaft (B).
- Install the RH camshaft front bearing cap (A) and camshaft bearing cap (B).
Tightening torque:
18.6 - 22.6 N.m (1.9 - 2.3 kgf.m, 13.7 - 16.6 lb-ft)
NOTE:- Be careful not to change the position and direction of RH camshaft front bearing cap and camshaft bearing cap.
- Install the camshaft bearing caps in the sequence shown.
- Be sure to install the bearing caps in the correct place.
- Front mark
- (LH, RH head): L (LH), R (RH)
- (Journal): 1, 2, 3
- (Engine Type): A (ALL), T (T-GDI), M (MPI), G (GDI), L (LPI)
- Rotate the crankshaft until the pistons are located below the top of cylinder block so that it doesn't come into contact with the valves.
- Install the RH intake CVVT assembly (A) and RH exhaust CVVT assembly (B).
Tightening torque:
24.5 N.m (2.5 kgf.m, 18.1 lb.ft) + (40°)
NOTE:- To prevent impurities from entering OCV & center bolt, wear rubber gloves.
- When installing OCV & center bolt, temporarily install by hand, and then fully install by using a tool.
- When installing OCV & center bolt, install to the specified tightening torque.
- Do not use any dropped OCV & center bolt.
- When installing CVVT, apply engine oil on cross section (A) of OCV.
- When installing the intake and exhaust OCV & Center bolt, hold the camshaft with a wrench to prevent the camshaft from rotating.
Be careful not to damage cam carrier and camshaft.
- Install camshaft to dowel pin of CVVT assembly. When doing this, be careful not to install on the oil hole of camshaft.
- Hold the hexagonal head wrench portion of the camshaft with a vise, and install the bolt and CVVT assembly.
- When assembling the CVVT assembly to the camshaft, do not strongly press the CVVT assembly.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
