Removal And Installation

  1. Remove the timing chain cover.

    (Refer to Timing System - "TIMING CHAIN COVER ")

  2. Disconnect the oil pump solenoid connector (A).

  3. Remove the oil pump chain tensioner (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    9.8 - 11.7 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.6 lb.ft)

  4. Remove the oil pump chain (A) with the oil pump sprocket.

    Tightening torque: 

    19.6 - 24.5 N.m (2.0 - 2.5 kgf.m, 14.5 - 18.1 lb.ft)

  5. Remove the oil pump (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    9.8 - 11.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb.ft)

    NOTE:
    • When installing the oil pump, check the existence of O-ring (A) on the mating surface.
    • Always use new oil pump O-ring (A).

  6. Install in the reverse order of removal.
  7. Fill the engine oil.

    (Refer to Lubrication System - "ENGINE OIL ")

  8. Start engine and check for leaks.
  9. Recheck engine oil level.
