Removal And Installation

Remove the surge tank.
(Refer to Intake and Exhaust System - "SURGE TANK ")
Remove the integrated thermal management module (ITM).
(Refer to Cooling System - "INTEGRATED THERMAL MANAGEMENT MODULE (ITM) ")
Remove the water cooled intercooler.
(Refer to Intake and Exhaust System - "WATER COOLED INTERCOOLER ")
Remove the drive belt.
(Refer to Drive Belt System - "DRIVE BELT ")
Remove the water pump pulley (A).
Tightening torque:

7.8 - 9.8 N.m (0.8 - 1.0 kgf.m, 5.7 - 7.2 lb.ft)

Remove the water pump (A) with the gasket.
Tightening torque:

M8 bolts: 18.6 - 21.6 N.m (1.9 - 2.2 kgf.m, 13.7 - 15.9 lb.ft)

M6 bolts: 9.8 - 11.7 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.6 Ib.ft)

NOTE:
- Always use new water pump gasket (A).

Remove the water pump housing (A) with the gasket.

Install in the reverse order of removal.
Fill the engine coolant.
(Refer to Cooling System - "COOLANT ")
NOTE:
- The engine coolant must be injected according to the integrated thermal management module (ITM) coolant filling method.
Fill the water cooled intercooler coolant.
(Refer to Cooling System - "WATER COOLED INTERCOOLER COOLANT ")
NOTE:
- The water cooled intercooler coolant must be injected according to the electric water pump (EWP) coolant filling method.
Recheck coolant level.
