Integrated thermal management module (ITM)

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
NOTE:
  • Make sure that static electricity and other voltages do not act on the integrated thermal management module (ITM).
  • Keep objects with magnetic properties, including magnets, away from the integrated thermal management module (ITM).
  • Make sure that the engine is turned off and power is shut down when disconnecting the integrated thermal management module (ITM) connector.
  • When connecting the integrated thermal management module (ITM) connector, remove oil and water from the connector completely and prevent foreign substance from entering the connector.
  • If replacement of the integrated thermal management module (ITM) is necessary, be sure to replace with a connector that conforms to the specifications.
  1. Disconnect the battery negative terminal from the trunk room.
  2. Remove the engine cover.

    (Refer to Engine and Transmission Assembly - "ENGINE COVER ")

  3. Disconnect the water cooled intercooler outlet hose and then drain the water cooled intercooler coolant.

    (Refer to Cooling System - "WATER COOLED INTERCOOLER COOLANT ")

  4. Loosen the drain plug and drain the engine coolant.

    (Refer to Cooling System - "COOLANT ")

  5. Disconnect the integrated thermal management module (ITM) connector (A).

  6. Disconnect the radiator upper hose (A).

  7. Disconnect the ATF warmer coolant hose (A) and heater hose.

  8. Disconnect the air vent hose (A).

  9. Remove the water cooled intercooler coolant reservoir tank and bracket.

    (Refer to Cooling System - "WATER COOLED INTERCOOLER COOLANT RESERVOIR TANK ")

  10. Remove the drive belt.

    (Refer to Drive Belt System - "DRIVE BELT ")

  11. Remove the integrated thermal management module (ITM) (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    18.6 - 23.5 N.m (1.9 - 2.4 kgf.m, 13.7 - 17.4 lb.ft)

  12. Install in the reverse order of removal.
    NOTE:
    • Always use new integrated thermal management module (ITM) O-ring (A).

  13. Fill the engine coolant.

    (Refer to Cooling System - "COOLANT ")

    NOTE:
    • The engine coolant must be injected according to the integrated thermal management module (ITM) coolant filling method.
  14. Fill the water cooled intercooler coolant.

    (Refer to Cooling System - "WATER COOLED INTERCOOLER COOLANT ")

    NOTE:
    • The water cooled intercooler coolant must be injected according to the electric water pump (EWP) coolant filling method.
  15. Recheck coolant level.
