Heater pipe

  1. Disconnect the battery negative terminal from the trunk room.
  2. Remove the engine cover.

    (Refer to Engine and Transmission Assembly - "ENGINE COVER ")

  3. Loosen the drain plug and drain the engine coolant.

    (Refer to Cooling System - "COOLANT ")

  4. Remove the LH air cleaner assembly.

    (Refer to Intake and Exhaust System - "AIR CLEANER ")

  5. Remove the intercooler inlet pipe (A).

  6. Disconnect the turbo charger water hose (A).

  7. Disconnect the heater hoses (A).

  8. Disconnect the turbo charger water hose (A).

  9. Remove the oil filter & oil cooler.

    (Refer to Lubrication System - "OIL FILTER & OIL COOLER ")

  10. Remove the heater pipe (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    9.8 - 11.7 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.6 Ib.ft)

  11. Install in the reverse order of removal.
    NOTE:
    • Always use the new heater pipe O-ring.
    • When installing the heater pipe, apply anti-freeze or soapy water to O-ring.
  12. Fill the engine coolant.

    (Refer to Cooling System - "COOLANT ")

    NOTE:
    • The engine coolant must be injected according to the integrated thermal management module (ITM) coolant filling method.
  13. Recheck coolant level.
