Removal And Installation

  1. Disconnect the battery negative terminal from the trunk room.
  2. Remove the engine cover.

    (Refer to Engine and Transmission Assembly - "ENGINE COVER ")

  3. Disconnect the water cooled intercooler outlet hose and then drain the water cooled intercooler coolant.

    (Refer to Cooling System - "WATER COOLED INTERCOOLER COOLANT ")

  4. Remove the RH air cleaner assembly.

    (Refer to Intake and Exhaust System - "AIR CLEANER ")

  5. Disconnect the engine coolant temperature sensor connector (A).

  6. Disconnect the water cooled intercooler outlet hose (A).

  7. Disconnect the water cooled intercooler reservoir tank hose (A).

  8. Disconnect the electric water pump (EWP) hose (A).

  9. Remove the T-nipple (A).

  10. Remove the electric water pump (EWP) and bracket (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    18.6 - 23.5 N.m (1.9 - 2.4 kgf.m, 13.7 - 17.4 lb.ft)

  11. Install in the reverse order of removal.
  12. Fill the water cooled intercooler coolant.

    (Refer to Cooling System - "WATER COOLED INTERCOOLER COOLANT ")

    NOTE:
    • The water cooled intercooler coolant must be injected according to the electric water pump (EWP) coolant filling method.
  13. Recheck coolant level.
