High Pressure Fuel Pump: Removal

- Release the residual pressure in fuel line.
(Refer to Fuel Delivery System - "RELEASE RESIDUAL PRESSURE IN FUEL LINE ")
- Switch "OFF" the ignition and disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
- Remove the engine cover.
(Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "ENGINE COVER ")
- Remove the air cleaner.
(Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "AIR CLEANER ")
- Remove the RH injector foam (A).
- Disconnect the GDI injector connector (A) and then remove the wiring clip (B).
- After loosening the mounting bolts, then remove the high pressure fuel pump cover and form (A).
Tightening torque:
9.8 - 11.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb-ft)
- Disconnect the fuel pressure regulating valve connector (A).
- Remove the high pressure fuel pipe (C) after loosening the flange nut (A) and function block bolt (B).
Tightening torque:
- 29.4 - 35.3 N.m (3.0 - 3.6 kgf.m, 21.7 - 26.0 lb-ft)
- 9.8 - 11.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb-ft)
- Disconnect the fuel feed line quick-connector (A). [High Pressure Fuel Pump ↔ Engine Room]
- Remove the high pressure fuel pump (B) after loosening the nut (A).
Tightening torque
12.7 - 14.7 N.m (1.3 - 1.5 kgf.m, 9.4 - 10.8 lb-ft)
