Low Pressure Fuel Line [High Pressure Fuel Pump ↔ Engine Room]

  1. Release the residual pressure in fuel line.

    (Refer to Fuel Delivery System - "RELEASE RESIDUAL PRESSURE IN FUEL LINE ")

  2. Switch "OFF" the ignition and disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
  3. Remove the engine cover.

    (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "ENGINE COVER ")

  4. Remove the air cleaner.

    (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "AIR CLEANER ")

  5. Disconnect the GDI injector connector (A) and then remove the wiring clip (B).

  6. After loosening the mounting bolts, then remove the high pressure fuel pump cover and form (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    9.8 - 11.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb-ft)

  7. Disconnect the fuel feed line quick-connector (A). [Engine Room ↔ Fuel Tank]

  8. Disconnect the low pressure fuel line quick-connector (A) and then remove the mounting bolt (B). [High Pressure Fuel Pump ↔ Engine Room]

    Tightening torque: 

    9.8 - 11.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb-ft)

    NOTE:
    • Open the clamp cover (A) before disconnect the quick connector. (If the clip is applied)

    CAUTION:
    • When removing the quick-connnector with the clip removing tool (A), be careful not to damage the plastic clip (B).
    • If the clip is damaged, fuel line leak can be occurred due to a bad connection.

  9. Remove the surge tank.

    (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "SURGE TANK ")

  10. Remove the low pressure fuel line (A) after loosening the mounting bolt and nut.

    Tightening torque: 

    9.8 - 11.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb-ft)
