Removal And Installation

Release the residual pressure in fuel line.
Refer to Fuel Delivery System - "RELEASE RESIDUAL PRESSURE IN FUEL LINE ")
Switch "OFF" the ignition and disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
Remove the rear seat cushion assembly.
(Refer to Body - "REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY ")
Remove the seat folding cable bracket (A).

Remove the fuel pump service cover (A) after loosening the mounting screws.

Disconnect the fuel pump connector (A).
Disconnect the fuel pressure sensor connector (B).
Disconnect the fuel tank pressure sensor connector (C).

Disconnect the fuel feed tube quick-connector (A).

Lift the vehicle.
Remove the propeller shaft assembly.
(Refer to Driveshaft and Axle - "PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY ")
Remove the center muffler assembly.
(Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "MUFFLER ")
Disconnect the fuel filler hose (A).

Disconnect the vapor hose quick-connector (A).

Support the fuel tank with jack (A).

NOTE:
- Put a rubber block between the fuel tank and the jack to prevent damage to the fuel tank.
Remove the fuel tank band (A) after loosening the mounting bolts and nuts.
Remove the fuel tank installation bolts (B) and then remove the fuel tank.
Tightening torque:

39.2 - 54.0 N.m (4.0 - 5.5 kgf.m, 28.9 - 39.8 lb-ft)

NOTE:
- When removing the fuel tank, be careful the damage to the ventilation quick-connector.
Install in the reverse order of removal.
