Removal And Installation

Disconnect the battery negative terminal from the trunk room.
Remove the engine cover.
(Refer to Engine and Transmission Assembly - "ENGINE COVER ")
Remove the air cleaner assembly.
(Refer to Intake and Exhaust System - "AIR CLEANER ")
Disconnect the fuel hose (A) and PCSV hose (B).

Remove the engine wiring connectors and harness clamps around the intake manifold and then remove the connector brackets and wiring protector.
Tightening torque: 6.9 - 9.8 N.m (0.7 - 1.0 kgf.m, 5.1 - 7.2 lb-ft)

Remove the water cooled intercooler reservoir tank.
(Refer to Cooling System - "WATER COOLED INTERCOOLER RESERVOIR TANK ")
Disconnect the quick connector (A), and then remove the inter cooler outlet hose (A).

Information
- When disconnecting the intercooler hose, pull the quick connector clamp (A) in the direction of the arrow, as shown in the below illustration.

Remove the PCSV (A) and hose (B).

Remove the oil level gauge and pipe (A).

Loosen the water outlet pipe mounting bolts (A).
Tightening torque: 9.8 - 11.7 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.6 lb.ft)

Disconnect the vacuum hose (A).

Remove the connector bracket (A) after loosening the mounting bolt.

Remove the intake manifold stay bracket (A).
Tightening torque: 18.6 - 23.5 N.m (1.9 - 2.4 kgf.m, 13.7 - 17.4 lb-ft)

Remove the intake manifold (A) with the gasket.
Tightening torque: 18.6 - 23.5 N.m (1.9 - 2.4 kgf.m, 13.7 - 17.4 lb-ft)

NOTE:
- Be careful not to allow the foreign substances to enter the inlet port.
- Do not reuse the intake manifold gasket.

Remove the manifold absolute pressure sensor (A) after loosening the mounting bolts.
Tightening torque: 8.8 - 10.8 N.m (0.9 - 1.1 kgf.m, 6.5 - 7.9 lb-ft)

Remove the ETC module (A) after loosening the mounting bolts.
Tightening torque: 8.8 - 10.8 N.m (0.9 - 1.1 kgf.m, 6.5 - 7.9 lb-ft)

Install in the reverse order of removal.
NOTE:
- When installing the intake manifold, tighten the bolts and nuts with pre-torque first, and then tighten the bolts and nuts with the specified torque as the sequence shown.
