Removal And Installation
- To prevent scalding by the hot exhaust parts, wait until the engine cools down to room temperature.
- Use fender covers to avoid damaging painted surfaces.
- When handling the metal gasket, be careful not to fold or damage the surface.
- To avoid damage, disconnect the wiring connectors carefully.
- Replace all gaskets with new ones. Do not reuse.
- Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
- Remove the engine cover.

- Remove the engine room under cover.
(Refer to the Engine And Transmission Assembly - "ENGINE ROOM UNDER COVER ")
- Remove the front muffler.
(Refer to the Intake And Exhaust System - "MUFFLER ")
- Disconnect the O2 sensor connectors (A).
- Disconnect the O2 sensor connectors (A) from wiring bracket.
- Remove the WCC stay mounting nuts (A).
Tightening torque: 39.2 - 44.1 N.m (4.0 - 4.5 kgf.m, 28.9 - 32.5 lb-ft)
- Remove the V-clamp (A).
Tightening torque: 13.7 - 16.7 N.m (1.4 - 1.7 kgf.m, 10.1 - 12.3 lb-ft)
NOTE:- If the clamp is to be stretched excessively, the shape of the clamp may change. Therefore, install it within the length of the bolt at least.
- When installing the catalytic converter (WCC) clamp, visually verify that the guide is seated on the turbocharger and then tighten the clamp.
- Remove the warm up catalytic converter (WCC) (A).NOTE:
- When installing, replace with a new gasket.
- Remove the front cross member.

- Remove the RH engine mounting support bracket (A).
Tightening torque: 49.0 - 58.8 N.m (5.0 - 6.0 kgf.m, 36.2 - 43.4 lb-ft)
- Remove the RH strut bar (A).
- Disconnect the front control connector (A) and wiring (B) ground (E), the transmission control module (TCM) (D), and then disconnect the wiring protector (C).
Tightening torque: Nut (B): 7.8 - 10.8 N.m (0.8 - 1.1 kgf.m, 5.7 - 7.9 lb.ft)
Nut (C): 4.9 - 7.8 N.m (0.5 - 0.8 kgf.m, 3.6 - 5.7 lb.ft)
Bolt (E): 10.8 - 13.7 N.m (1.1 - 1.4 kgf.m, 7.9 - 10.1 lb.ft)
- Disconnect the engine wiring connectors and harness clamps around the turbocharger & exhaust manifold. Then, remove the connector brackets and wiring protector.
- Disconnect the intercooler inlet hose (A).
- Disconnect the turbocharger water hose (A) and breather hose (B).
- Remove the heat protector (A).
Tightening torque: 7.8 - 11.8 N.m (0.8 - 1.2 kgf.m, 5.8 - 8.7 lb-ft)
- Remove the turbocharger water pipes & hoses (A).
Tightening torque: 26.5 - 23.4 N.m (2.7 - 3.3 kgf.m, 19.5 - 23.9 lb-ft)
- Remove the oil feed pipe (A).
Tightening torque: 7.8 - 11.8 N.m (0.8 - 1.2 kgf.m, 5.8 - 8.7 lb-ft)
- Remove the oil drain pipe (A).
Tightening torque: 7.8 - 11.8 N.m (0.8 - 1.2 kgf.m, 5.8 - 8.7 lb-ft)
- Remove the turbocharger stay (A).
Tightening torque: Bolts (B): 52.0 - 57.9 N.m (5.3 - 5.9 kgf.m, 38.3 - 42.7 lb-ft)
Bolts (C): 18.6 - 27.5 N.m (1.9 - 2.8 kgf.m, 13.7 - 20.3 lb-ft)
- Remove the turbocharger & exhaust manifold (A).
Tightening torque: 49.0 - 53.9 N.m (5.0 - 5.5 kgf.m, 36.2 - 39.8 lb-ft)
- Remove the turbocharger & exhaust manifold gasket (A).NOTE:
- Do not reuse the turbocharger & exhaust manifold gasket.
- Loosen the eye bolt, and then remove the turbocharger oil feed pipe (A).
Tightening torque: Oil feed pipe eye bolt: 16.7 - 21.6 N.m (1.7 - 2.2 kgf.m, 12.3 - 15.9 lb-ft)
Bracket bolt: 7.8 - 11.8 N.m (0.8 - 1.2 kgf.m, 5.8 - 8.7 lb-ft)
- Remove the C-ring (A), and then remove the rod assembly (B).
- Remove the electric WGT control actuator (A) after loosening the mounting bolts.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.NOTE:
- Adjust the EWGA rod.

- Adjust the EWGA rod.
