Cylinder Head Cover: Removal

NOTE:
  • Use fender covers to avoid damaging painted surfaces.
  • To avoid damage, unplug the wiring connectors carefully while holding the connector portion.

Information 

  1. Disconnect the battery negative terminal.
  2. Remove the engine cover.

    (Refer to Engine and Transaxle Assembly - "ENGINE COVER ")

  3. Disconnect the wiring connectors and harness clamps and remove the connector bracket and wiring protector around the cylinder head cover.

  4. Disconnect the cylinder head cover sound absorption cover (A).

  5. Remove the high pressure fuel hose, high pressure fuel pipe and high pressure fuel pump.

    (Refer to Engine Control/Fuel System - "HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP ")

  6. Remove the ignition coils.

    (Refer to Engine Electrical System - "IGNITION COIL ")

  7. Disconnect the breather hose (A).

  8. Remove the cylinder head cover (A).

  9. Remove the cylinder head cover gasket (A), center bolt gasket (B), plug hole seal (C).

    NOTE:
    • Always use a new cylinder head cover gasket.
