Removal And Installation
- Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
- Drain the coolant.
(Refer to Cooling System - "COOLANT ")
- Remove the engine and transmission assembly from a vehicle.
(Refer to Engine and Transmission Assembly - "ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY ")
- Disconnect the engine wiring connector and harness clamp around the water temperature control assembly and remove the connector bracket.
- Disconnect the water hoses (A).
- Disconnect the water hose (A) and oil cooler hose (B).
- Remove the water pipe housing module (A) with gasket
Tightening torque: 10.8 - 14.7 N.m (1.1 - 1.5 kgf.m, 8.0 - 10.8 lb-ft)
- Remove the water temperature control assembly (A).
Tightening torque: 18.6 - 23.5 N.m (1.9 - 2.4 kgf.m, 13.7 - 17.4 lb-ft)
- Remove the water temperature control assembly gasket (A).NOTE:
- When installing, replace with new gaskets.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
- Fill the engine coolant.
(Refer to Cooling System - "COOLANT ")
- Recheck coolant level.
