Removal And Installation

CAUTION: * In case of the reinstallation 
  1. In case of the reinstallation
    1. Check the O-Ring (A-1ea) and O-Ring (B-2ea).
    2. Apply to grease (Lithium) in the input O-ring (A-1ea) and output O-ring (B-2ea)

    3. Be careful not to damage the actuator/pressure sensor/extension wire due to impact during assembly or transport.
    4. Be careful not to have impact on the actuator and pressure sensor by other components during assembly on the vehicle.
    5. Use caution not to damage the extension wire including being torn at structures.
    6. Maintain its horizontal position during disassembly/assembly.

  1. Turn ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
    CAUTION:
    • When lifting a vehicle using a lift, be careful not to damage the lower parts of the vehicle (floor under cover, fuel filter, fuel tank, canister).

      (Refer to General Information - "LIFT AND SUPPORT POINTS ")

  2. Loosen the rear wheel nuts slightly.

    Raise the vehicle, and make sure it is securely supported.

  3. Remove the rear wheel and tire.

    (Refer to Suspension System - "WHEEL ")

  4. Remove the passenger side rear drive shaft.

    (Refer to Driveshaft and axle - "REAR DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY ")

  5. Disconnect the oil pressure sensor connector (A) and oil temperature sensor connector (B).

  6. Disconnect the oil hydraulic motor connector (A).

  7. Remove the fixed clip (A).
    NOTE:
    • When the fixing clip is forcibly removed, the screw part is damaged, so replace it with a new one.

  8. Remove the electronic limited slip differential (A) after loosening the mounting bolts.

    Tightening torque: 

    58.9 - 64.7 N.m (5.8 - 6.6 kgf.m, 42.0 - 47.7 lb-ft)

  9. To install, reverse the removal procedures.
    CAUTION:
    1. Pay attention to the direction of the connector during assembly.
    2. Pay attention so that the extension wire is not twisted.
    3. Remove the any foreign matter on the connector pin of the extension wire.
